Jeff and Malinda have been great to work with. They have been helping us the past few years with our renovations on our townhomes. When we have a tenant move out they have been great to use to get the place flipped. They are timely, good priced, and very friendly. I would highly recommend.

Jeff Richardson gave me a quote that was way lower than other quotes for our new long cedar fence. He explained that he and his wife do all the work and explained the work clearly. Jeff and his wife did a fantastic job...There were some paint hiccups along the way that were due to me trying to save time and money going to Lowes. Jeff and Melinda were superb! I have a lot of workers in my home, since I'm not able to do much of the work myself, and these two were the best I've had. They were prompt and respectful, and their work was exemplary. Even though they had a family emergency after the first day of my project, Jeff still came the next day to finish up what was started so they wouldn't leave me with a mess. Perfect! Jeff replied to my request for an estimate quickly, dropped by and quoted me a fair price. As we chatted about what we wanted, their experience and methods it was clear Jeff and his wife are true professionals. I've painted many a house myself (and am an automotive painter) so I appreciate craftsmen and quality without reinventing the wheel. Arrive on time, worked surprisingly fast and did an AWESOME job covering a dark color with white and doing ceiling and walls in the living room. We wanted semi-gloss on the ceilings and although I know the potential perils for not having the best appearance these guys made it look great! No fuss, no muss, no mess and nice to boot. Very much worth it and I plan on using again for the next project.

He asked me if I would call Angie's List and let them know if I was satisfied with the work. It was $1000 but they had so much patching to do since the electrician had put holes everywhere. They did a really good job. They were here and did it in a timely manner. I told them that I would give them a recommendation. He was very professional. He and his wife do the business together and they couldn't have been nicer to me and helpful. In fact, I was told by the guy that did the baseboards on my kitchen, they really screwed it up and so I was told that I'd have to get my painters back in here to repaint it which I really don't have to do because Lowes is going to take care of it. But when I called the painter, that was yesterday, he said, we've got an opening on Monday morning, we'll be right out to take care of that for you. I had to cancel it because Lowes says that that's their responsibility. But he was so willing to come back and help out. They were never really really late but they were a little bit late. They always came the day they said they were going to.

The trim job went well. Jeff could not match the paint and went ahead and painted in an oil without increasing my cost, which would normally cost 50% more. I appreciated that very much and would use Jeff again just for that aspect. On the touch up side, a lot areas were missed but I think that's a lot to do with the nature of the job and likely why many painters don't provide touch up services. In hindsight, i would have just gone with a full wall repaint as I believe my expectations would have been better met. All in all I would use Jeff and recommend him in the future.

Jeff and his wife work together. They work well together, anticipating each others needs and doing the things necessary to move the work along. All areas they worked on were carefully inspected, any damage was repaired and and primed. The areas were then masked off and the painting was completed. Everywhere they worked, they took precautions to protect our carpets, furniture or anything else that might get some cast-off on it. Their work was excellent and they finished in the time they estimated. They cleaned up the work areas and replaced a lot of the furniture and appliances that had to be removed before they painted. This was a great help to us since we are elderly. As I mentioned, this was the second time that we used the Richardsons and we were as pleased this time as we were the first time. We will definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for excellent painters. Description of Work: This is the second time we have used Jeff. As before, he was extremely easy to work with, he provided a bid and scheduled the work. He and his wife work together and they arrived on time and patched and painted the insets that surrounded 8 half-round windows; touched up the trim in the master bath and painted one wall in our laundry room.

It went well. They were quick to come out for an estimate, and were able to start the job within a few days of that. They were personable and professional, and did a great job keeping the place clean. I thought they did a nice job painting, and would hire them again. They were the only quote I got, so I didn't give them a rating on price. We had a great experience with Jeff and Malinda. They were super quick to respond and were so helpful - provided advice on color selection, where to get paint and painting the trim ourselves. They were prompt and very professional - made sure all the furniture was covered, did an excellent job of taping and masking everything. Jeff and his wife Malinda did a great job painting the interior of our house?walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. They applied 2 coats of paint with roller and brush. They were very careful and meticulous. The finished job is very professional. The edges are sharp and it looks great. They filled in holes and caulked the trim. Our chair rail looks better than it ever has. When a color we picked out turned out looking a little different from what we had imagined, they explained why colors do that and were patient while we decided if we wanted to continue with that color. They came at the same time every day and cleaned up daily. They painted a couple rooms at a time, which was a lot easier than trying to empty all the rooms at the same time. The kitchen could be used very evening while it was being painted. Jeff and Malinda are warm and friendly. They were a joy to work with. We felt very comfortable leaving them alone in our house. We highly recommend them.

We had used Jeff and Malinda (his wife) previously. In April we had them paint the master bedroom and bath, our kitchen and family room. We had wanted to paint the entire upstairs at that time but we had to limit our expenses, so when we were ready to complete the upstairs, there was no question about who we would have do the painting. As before, they were a pleasure to work with. They started when they said they would and finished on time (in fact a day earlier than expected). They laid down painter's tarps throughout the area they were working in, taped and masked all woodwork and areas not to be painted and put two coats of paint on each wall. When they finished an area they cleaned up everything, so that the room was ready to have the contents replaced. There were no drips or smudges and where the new paint came together with the other areas they painted earlier, the lines were crisp and there was no unevenness in their work. Our ceilings were a different color than the walls and they cut the edges with brushwork and not masking. They were always attentive to our needs and requests and they were a pleasure to have in our home (again). They work well together and there seemed to be an intuitive relationship between them, helping each other and always maximizing their time. We have always worried about having craftsmen in our home, but Jeff and Malinda are totally trustworthy and we had no hesitation leaving them alone in our home. When we are able to paint the basement we will definitely give them another call. Description of Work: Painted the remainder of our upstairs; living room, dining room; guest bathroom; entry and hallways and the staircase walls to the basement.

Jeff and Melinda did a very thorough evaluation of the job and gave us a good estimate of the work. They were very well informed about what would be needed and gave great suggestions on paint, texturizing, etc. I have an older home that had some ceiling damage in the hallway and they knew right away what to expect and how to repair it. Their estimate was higher than others, but they made me feel confident that they would be able to get the job done to our satisfaction and in a timely manner. They also gave us a great idea on texturizing our bathroom ceiling and we love the look. They were always on time and got through each day's work efficiently and professionally. Both Jeff and Melinda were very personable and took time to talk with us about what they would be doing. I have several other jobs I need done and I will not hesitate to call them again. Description of Work: Repaired and painted hallway ceiling and stairway walls. Texturized and painted bathroom ceiling, and painted walls, trim and wainscoting in bathroom.

Jeff and his wife arrived on time each day and completed the job timely, professionally. They were courteous, personable and educated me in lots of painting tips.

From beginning to end working with Jeff and Malinda was a real pleasure. I contacted Jeff for a bid on 3/22/2014 and I left a message for him. He returned my call first thing Monday and made an appointment to come to our home for an estimate. I received the emailed bid on the following Thursday. His bid was for all prep work (masking, spackling, caulking and sanding) and 2 coats of paint on all areas being done. His bid not only gave us the overall price, but he broke the bid down so we knew how much of the price was for each area. They arrived at the arranged time ready to go to work. He and Malinda then commenced to lay tarps and mask all areas of the house they would be working on. They arrived promptly each morning and worked hard each day.. They were very pleasant to work with and they completed the job on schedule. They also went beyond their responsibilities by helping us move and replace the furniture, pictures and other accoutraments in the house. There were areas where different colors of paint came together without a physical break and those lines were straight and sharp, with no bleed-through on either color. We feel their work was very professional and we will definitely have them back as we can afford to have other areas of our house painted. The finished job was excellent, and Jeff and Malinda were wonderful to work with. Description of Work: He and his wife, Malinda, painted our family room/ kitchen and also our Master Suite.

Contractor does not work in my town

I got Jeff Richardson from Angie's List. I have used him like 3-4 times. His prices are reasonable. He did a good job, everything was clean. Everything was fine.

They did a good job; he and his crew were very clean. The detail of their painting was good; they did not overlap colors and they showed up when they were supposed to. They also finished when they told me they would. Jeff is a little expensive but they are very good.

Jeff was on time and worked very quickly. The quality of his work is excellent.

Initially, I was very impressed with the positive quality of work and service reviews for this company. I gave the company two opportunities to give me a bid. At first, it seemed unprofessional when I called the company number, that the owner answered with a "hello", rather than a company identification. I had to ask if it was the painter outfit. To some that may seem a somewhat minor complaint, but something to think about. On that first call, he promised to contact me on the following Saturday, to set up a bid visit. He assured me that he could get to the job directly, even before Christmas (this was mid-November). He asked me to text him my number, since he didn't have access to a notebook, which I did. Saturday came, and no follow-up, so I reluctantly decided to give him a second chance and called him again. He said the job he was on had run long, but promised to call me again the following Saturday. Truth is, I came away from the call feeling skeptical; he didn't sound as anxious for the job. Again, no call came, and at this point there won't be a third chance. I understand that he could be busy, and would appreciate and think more highly of a company who understands that my time is also important, and not waste it. Be straight forward, and tell me when you are not really going to be able to get to me; don't string me along. Unfortunately by doing that, my only experience with your company has been negative, and it's likely I'll express that if anyone asks me for my thoughts on painters. I can only guess he has bigger "fish to fry". Who knows how many opportunities he may have blown by not treating me professionally. Word of mouth travels. Maybe work won't always be so plentiful. Update, November 27, 2012 - After seeing my review, the owner called me back and expressed his regret for not following up as promised. He said that he had been very busy and had some personal issues that set him back timewise. He understood my frustration and insisted he did not mean to ignore me. He suggested that if, after the first of the year, I still needed the job done, to please contact him. I will likely give him another chance, and hopefully can re-rate him positively then. Description of Work: I wanted to have my family room painted, included all of the trim work. Once, kitchen and bathrooms are finished being renovated, my intention was to have those painted as well as hallways and entryway.

Their price was really reasonable and felt it was extremely affordable.

They were just so professional. They showed up on time. They were a little higher in price, but well-worth it. It was a husband and wife team. The price I paid was the price I was quoted. They just did such a good job. I am so pleased with their work.

He came and did an estimate and then in a couple days let us know how much it would be and a week later it was finished!

Supplementary report: The promised bid apparently was sent on time – to the wrong email address, twice. No follow-up by phone registered. Bid was well written and an estimated 10 – 15% below the selected alternative contractor's.

Jeff and his wife were very professional and great with the kids who took interest in the work done. Jeff was very thorough in his follow ups and gave us suggestions on how he could fix the problem. I would recommend Jeff to anyone that needs quality dry wall work done.

Jeff Richardson was very responsive and was quick to come out and give an estimate. He was prompt and professional and obviously knows what he's talking about. Of several Angie's List contractors, his estimate was the highest (roughly 15%). Just outside of our budget, so I did not go with him.

Jeff and his wife are a team and work very well together. They were professional, puctual, and did a good job. Their bid was not the lowest but was only slightly higher. I picked them because I felt they would do the very best job. Would definitely use them again.

Found Jeff and Malinda on Angie's List and like most have said, although they were a little pricier than other bids, the work performed was great.

They were great to work with. They work was excellent and they were on time everyday, pleasent and finished the job when they said they would.

I through it went very well overall. They arrived on time every day, had a plan in mind, got right to work, and worked continuously and efficiently until the project was finished. They were very accomodating and made having the house torn up as easy as possible. They were also fun to talk to and as they wrapped up, I realized I would miss our morning conversations. Melanie helped me make a few decisions on colors while Jeff is reluctant to make any reccomendations concerning color. When I found a few areas where I felt the paint didn't quite cover the original paint, they were happy to return and add another coat. The only complaint I have is that their drop cloths seems to be filled with quite a bit of dirt and debris from previous jobs. Surfaces that were protected with drop cloths had to be cleaned after the cloths were removed. Description of Work: They repaired several holes in my drywall. They removed, replaced, and added additional crown molding. They painted the ceilings, walls, door frames, and doors in my entry way, living room, kitchen/dining room, main hallway, and main bathroom.

He was fairly responsive but I had to call him a couple of times at first to get through to him. I would probably use him again.

Beautiful, from start to finish. Prompt, professional and detailed in their work. They are a joy to work with and follow through on everything they represent they will do. A husband and wife team that like each other and it comes through in their work and work conversations! A bid is submitted to you, and what is billed is what has been agreed upon. They are also very careful while working in your home, and cover everything for protection. They will always be my painters of choice, and have recommended them personally several times. Description of Work: Painted interior walls (some two-stories high); moldings, crown moldings, interior and exterior doors, wall touchups, main floor pillars and large outdoor deck.

They came on time most days (actually early on the first day) to get the job done. We paid them for the whole week and a very reasonable price to touch up the paint and clean up the lines and put another coat of paint on the walls that required it. They worked hard and took very few and short breaks (usually about two 10 min. breaks and a 20 min. break for lunch). They clarified what we wanted done and what was most important to us, giving us their opinion on what would be the most efficient use of their time. After the job, there was no mess left and the paint on the house looks 100x better. Description of Work: Touched up the interior walls and trim of our house left by a previous painter. The first painter (Jerry Peterson) and his crew did a horrible job painitng our walls. They didn't paint with two coats on some of the walls, left their trash, missed spots, had lines that were not straight, etc. Jeff and his wife, Malinda came and put another layer of paint on most of the walls, and cleaned up the lines and painted over some of the missed area of trim and walls left by the other painters.

Description of Work: Jeff and Melinda painted the interior of my entire house: kitchen, living room, bedroom, hallway, and office, including all of the ceilings and woodwork. They're work is fantastic! They got right to work and continued diligently until the job was done. The job involved quite a bit of prep work, as my home is old. The filled all the holes in the walls, and cleaned everything before painting. They completed the work within the time they promised and for the price they quoted. I trusted them to be in my home while I went to work - they even made friends with my dog! They were very responsive from the beginning. Jeff and his wife came over to provide the estimate the day after I phoned them. I had a timeline in which I needed the work done and they were able to accomodate that. They showed up on time everyday. They did a good job of protecting items in my home from paint splatters and they cleaned up each day. The work itself took 4 days. After doing 2 coats of paint on my window frames, Jeff asked if I was happy with how it looked (I was going from a dark color to a light color) and when I said that I thought another coat was needed they were happy to do it. They did charge for the additional coat. When the job was finished the replaced my curtains and cleaned up so it looked like no one had been there. Description of Work: Jeff and his wife painted my living room and dining room. They also repaired a wall in my bathroom which had some water damage.

Jeff and his wife Melinda are great people. They are very personable and prompt in all their business dealings with me. The couple dropped by to complete and estimate the day after I phoned them. There work is so sought after that there was a months wait for the actual work to begin. Jeff called and told me he had a cancellation so work began a bit earlier than we had planned. The Richardsons always showed up on time and worked in a very professional manner but ingaged in conversation with me while working so I didn't have that feeling that I had hired a robot (the impression I got from past repair or trades people). The work went smoothly and a half panel of sheet rock had to be replaced in the office ceiling revealing a cracked section of a beam. This was not part of the estimate but Jeff repaired it as best he could with screws and did not charge extra for his effort. He also was quick to provide me with painting and dry wall tips which should help me in the future. The workd lasted two and a half days. At the end of each work session the Richardsons did a great cleanup job and left my home in good shape.l was very happy with their work and craftmanship. Description of Work: Replacement and/or repair of waterdamage to ceilings of front room, hallway and office as well as laundry room. Spackeling then sanding and priming with oil then waterbase primer to make a large wall ready for painting. Texturing ceiling repairs to match surrounding area.

Description of Work: I got a bid from him to do some painting, went with someone else who was cheaper. The first guy did a bad job & didn't even prep the walls properly. I called Jeff to come fix it that and some mistakes the first guy made on my window trim.

Very well! Description of Work: Both Jeff and his wife (painting partner) were very kind and gave valued suggestion with our paint choices. They were fast and efficient. The quality of their work was A+. I honestly saw no flaws. There was a confusion with a wall that needed painting (which they did not paint on the day of the job) in which I believe my husband might have given the wrong information, and they were responsive and came first thing the next morning and completed the job for no charge. We will be using them again!

As described above. Description of Work: I called Jeff and asked if he could fix two cracks in the drywall of our dinning room. After describing the problem he gave me a price and said he would be over the next day at 2:30pm. He showed up on time and not only fixed the two cracks we had agreed on but found another one that he fixed for the same price. My husband was going to paint the areas himself but Jeff came back the next day and painted for up as part to the job. Jeff was very professional from answering his phone until the job was done. I will call on Jeff for any future jobs I might have.

Jeff and Malinda are great! We were kind of a pain on this project (having to reschedule appointments a couple of times), but Jeff was always completely punctual, flexible and easy to work with. They completed the work quickly and were friendly but not obtrusive. They even got along with our evil cat! :) The price was fair for the amount of work done, and at the end, Jeff even gave us a bonus, touching up areas in the rooms (like a spot of the old paint on the ceiling and some damage to the door frame) that we hadn't paid him to do (after checking with us to make sure it was okay, first.). All around a positive experience. Description of Work: Prepped and painted entire upstairs common area (combination sitting area/ dining room/ entrance and hallway), prepped and painted pantry closet (which included fixing some damage from a previous installed pantry system), prepped and painted office and office closet, prepped and painted baseboards in rooms that were painted, did minor touch-ups on door frames and ceilings in painted areas (a friendly bonus -- not included in the price).

Jeff was great -- he clearly explained what needed to be done, how he would do it, and how long it would take. He and Melinda were always very punctual, they did great work and they left the rooms spotless. Their bill was very reasonable, and I would absolutely hire them again. Description of Work: We had water damage to our ceiling, in two rooms -- Jeff and Melinda tore out and replaced the old plaster lathe, re-textured and painted.

Jeff started on time and painted for about 10 days. He did exactly what he said he would do. The rooms look beautiful. Description of Work: Jeff painted the front room, den, and basement. He repaired walls, ceiling, caulked the trim, and painted.

Jeff and his wife are a great team. They were always on time and worked efficiently and they really knew what they were doing. The ceiling and wall looked great when they were done. Jeff gave us some very useful suggestions on how to patch other minor areas that we were determined to do ourselves. They required half of the cost up front and then we paid the other half once the work was inspected and we were happy with it. Description of Work: Jeff and his wife textured a vaulted ceiling and a long wall in the loft area and then painted both to match existing walls.

Jeff returned my phone call promptly and set up a time to look over the job. He was personable, professional and, most importantly, honest. His price was very fair considering the tedious work involved in painting a stairwell railing. Jeff completed the work in two days and cleaned up the work site. I highly recommend him and will certainly use him again. Description of Work: We had a new door installed and Jeff prepped, primed and painted the inside and outside of the door. He also prepped, primed and painted a stairway railing and banister. We also had him do some patch work on some interior walls.
